Last week I decided to take a tour of the HGTV Dream Home, located right at the base of Spruce.  I’ve heard a lot of hype on this house and was curious to see inside.  I have to say, the house lives up to it’s hype.  For $20, you can take a 30 minute tour of the house.  All of the proceeds from the tours go to the Mount Mansfield Winter Academy.  The house is amazing.  It has been decorated beautifully and really is a Dream Home!  If you’ve never heard of the Dream Home Giveaway, here is a little info.  HGTV builds a Dream Home every year and gives it away to one lucky winner.  I believe this year, the Stowe Dream Home is the 15th home that they’ve given away.  You can enter on HGTV’s website.  The drawing in is 22 days, so you better get on it!  Anyway, the house is amazing.  It looks out towards Mount Mansfield and really captures the beauty of the mountain.  From every room in the house, you have a amazing view of Mansfield.  Everything in the house is state of the art.  The kitchen is straight ridiculous, with appliances that I didn’t even know existed for homes.. like the bread warming oven!?!  The Master Bedroom and Bath are so sick.  From the Master Bath, you can take a bath while looking at the Chin.. amazing!  The highlight for me though was the downstairs floor.  Not only is there a sick-ass Living Room down there, but a room that they call The Ski Dorm.  This place is ideal for all of your buddies who will come visit when you win the house.  It has 8 bunk beds for everyone to crash, plus a 3 shower stall bath room.  So sick!  If you have a chance to take a tour of this house, I would strongly encourage it.  The tours are run every weekend and singing up online is a must, since most of the tours sell out.  I’ll be sure to make a post about my house warming party when I win the contest! Fingers crossed! 🙂
