If you haven’t seen this yet, you need too. If you’ve seen it, you know it’s worth watching again. The word inspiration works, but for Shane, something else should be invented.

The beginning is always tough to watch. After that, good laughs & insane skiing & what not is what you get to see.

Squaw is where my heart lies as a born Clevelander. I dont wanna ask ….but I have to after wondering about it for several years. What went wrong in the air for Him.? I expected I would’ve eventually read\hear the real answer but I haven’t. Just because his skiis wouldn’t come off on that ski base…….why couldn’t he have just deployed his chute with skiis on?

Inspiration? I’m missing something. Yes he was a great skier. What Shane did while being a Dad leaves me with some thoughts that I will just keep to myself as a lot of you see him differently. I ripped all day today with my 6 year old boy. That inspires me.

Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you have to kiss your prior life good bye and live in a safety bubble. If you do, that’s your choice. Don’t push your beliefs about parenting on others.

I had lots of respect for everything Shane did for the sport and sometimes wish I can ski like he did. Then I watched the video of his daughter where she said she doesn’t want him to base jump. Pretty selfish don’t you think? He widowed his wife and left his daughter just so he can impress guys on unofficial. I can’t think of a worse group of jerks worth dying for.

What an inspiration Shane is! He is not a “was” and never will be. I still can’t believe that such an amazing father, friend, and athlete can be lost. Much love to all of his family and friends. Nothing can be said better other than he did what he loved and pursued all aspects of life with un-dying passion. You will be forever in our hearts Shane!

Thanks Shane, not a day goes by that I don’t see his influence on my life and I only got to meet him once in passing. Squaw should have the light shining on the Tram Face year round

Yeah… not posting, eh? I thought so…. Unofficial = No balls!

Yeah… Unofficial…. I’m really inspired. I wanna ski stoned drunk ‘n swing a bottle of Jack…. THEN I’m living life to its fullest! I wanna be a middle aged goofball because I have no responsibilities and because I’m good at it. I wanna be a near-forty-year-old-Dad dreaming up the next crazy stunt, to stay ahead of the twenty-year-old chasing my tail, doing something even crazier. I wanna always be on edge doing stunts that leave a widow behind and kids growing up fatherless. No doubt, I wanna be a damn excellent athlete and a ski industry visionary who some will even call “revolutionary”. But most of all Unofficial, I wanna be worshipped by you in a video just like this, over and over again. That’s the legacy I aspire to in my lifetime.
Thank you Unofficial Networks, I feel truly inspired and tearful for such a “deep” tribute.
